Cajun Sausage & Chicken Alfredo Pasta
Yield: 8-10 Servings
Ingredients
- 16oz package of Richard's Premium Smoked Pork Sausage, sliced diagonally
- 1 1/2 Tbsp of Richard's Cajun Seasoning, plus more for garnish
- 1lb chicken, cut into bite sized pieces
- 4 Tbsp olive oil
- Ground black pepper and salt, to taste
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1qt low sodium chicken broth
- 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1lb dried penne pasta
- 4oz parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Italian flat leaf parsley, minced (optional)
Directions
- In a large pan, season the cut chicken with salt and pepper and brown in olive oil over medium high heat.
- Add Premium Smoked Sausage and continue to cook until lightly browned.
- Stir in garlic and cook for for about two minutes.
- In a separate pot, add the chicken broth, heavy cream, dried pasta and Richard’s Cajun Seasoning.
- Stir together and bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Add in the sausage and chicken.
- Reduce heat to low and let cook covered for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is tender.
- Remove pot from heat and stir in parmesan cheese.
- Stir in chopped parsley and sprinkle with additional Richard’s Cajun Seasoning if you desire!
